Fraqshift for Visual Studio Code

The Fraqshift extension adds native, independent language support for Fraqshift to Visual Studio Code, including flat TextMate syntax tokenization and structural configurations.

Pre-requisites

Fraqshift is a completely custom, independent programming language and bare-metal ecosystem. Built from the ground up using low-level Assembly, it bypasses traditional high-level abstractions to execute instructions with raw hardware speed directly at the silicon level.

The Fraqshift extension provides development tooling and does not include the Fraqshift compiler toolchain.

To build and compile Fraqshift programs, you need the following tools configured in your environment:

  • nasm.exe (Netwide Assembler) pre-installed and added to your system PATH.
  • The Fraqshift Core Compiler / Translation toolchain.
Platform Compilers / Assemblers Architectures
Windows Fraqshift Core + nasm.exe x64, x86
Linux Fraqshift Core + nasm x64
macOS Fraqshift Core + nasm x64

Features

  • Silicon-Level Syntax Highlighting: Comprehensive color mapping for hardware registers (rax, rbx, etc.), system control blocks (sys.*), direct memory pointers (*ptr), and data peek operations.
  • Structural Integrity: Semantic block recognition for language primitives from func definitions down to func_done.
  • Integrated Iconography: Features a custom-designed native file explorer icon mapped directly to your .fraq workspace source files.
  • Smart Configurations: Automated bracket matching and comment-toggling operations (Ctrl + /) built dynamically around native semicolon ; syntax rules.

Support the Project

Fraqshift is free and open-source, but running our compilation testing servers costs money. If you want to support this independent silicon-level development, consider becoming a sponsor:
