AI-powered Git commit message generator for VS Code. Uses OpenAI-compatible APIs to automatically generate professional commit messages following Conventional Commits format.

One-Click Generation: Click the button in Source Control panel to generate commit messages instantly

Pull Request Title & Description: Generate PR titles and descriptions from the ✨ button of the GitHub Pull Requests extension, alongside GitHub Copilot

Usage

Make changes to your code
Open the Source Control panel (Ctrl+Shift+G)
Click the chat bubble icon in the title bar
The generated commit message will be filled in automatically

Pull Request Title & Description

Requires the GitHub Pull Requests extension.

Open the Create Pull Request view and select the base and merge branches
Click the ✨ button next to the title field
Pick Commit Generater or GitHub Copilot (skip this step with commitGenerater.prTitleProvider)
The generated title and description are filled in automatically; the PR template is followed when present

Configuration

All settings are user-level only. Run Commit Generater: Setup Wizard for guided setup, or configure manually:
