The EyeKR theme is specifically designed with eye comfort in mind, featuring:

• Two variants: Dark and Light themes optimized for different lighting conditions
• Warm color palette: Reduced blue light emission to minimize eye strain
• Optimal contrast: Carefully balanced contrast ratios for readability without harshness
• Reduced glare: Warm off-white backgrounds in light mode, warm dark grays in dark mode
• Consistent design: Harmonious color scheme throughout the interface

Color Philosophy

Dark Theme

• Uses warm, muted colors with reduced blue light
• Warm dark gray background (#1e2124) instead of pure black
• Warm beige foreground (#e8d5b7) for better readability
• Reduced contrast to prevent eye strain during long coding sessions

Light Theme

• Warm off-white background (#faf8f5) to reduce glare
• Muted color palette with earthy tones
• Sufficient contrast for readability without being harsh
• Optimized for well-lit environments

Recommended Fonts

For the best eye comfort experience, we recommend using fonts with ligatures and optimized for programming:

Primary Recommendations

• Fira Code: Excellent ligature support and eye-friendly design
• Cascadia Code: Microsoft's font designed for programming with great ligatures
• JetBrains Mono: Clean, readable font with good character distinction

Alternative Options

• Victor Mono: Cursive font with ligatures for a unique look
• Inconsolata: Clean, readable monospace font

Installation

1. Open VSCode
2. Go to Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X)
3. Search for "EyeKR Theme"
4. Install the extension
5. Go to Preferences > Color Theme
6. Select either "EyeKR Dark" or "EyeKR Light"
