Graphify MCP

Connect VS Code agents to your indexed codebases through Graphify’s hosted MCP server.

What you can do

  • Find functions, classes, and code evidence across indexed repositories.
  • Explore callers and dependencies, and assess change impact.
  • Save and recall repository knowledge across sessions.

Get started

  1. Sign in at app.graphify.com, select a workspace, and index a repository. Wait until its index is ready.
  2. Install Graphify MCP in VS Code 1.102 or later.
  3. Run MCP: List Servers from the Command Palette and select Graphify. Start the server and complete the browser OAuth sign-in when prompted.
  4. Open an agent chat with an available model, enable Graphify’s tools, and ask: “List the repositories I can query with Graphify.”
  5. Choose a returned repository and ask a question about its code.

The extension registers https://api.graphify.com/mcp using Streamable HTTP. VS Code handles server trust, OAuth, and tool approvals. No API key is required.

An agent/chat model must be available in VS Code to use the tools conversationally. Installing this extension does not provide a model subscription. Features and results depend on your Graphify plan, permissions, and repository indexing status.

Commands

  • Graphify: Open Dashboard — open your workspace in the browser.
  • Graphify: Open MCP Documentation — open setup instructions and the tool reference.

Data and permissions

The extension only registers the hosted MCP endpoint and provides the two browser shortcuts above. It does not read or upload local workspace files, run a local MCP process, implement its own credential storage, or send extension telemetry. VS Code sends MCP requests to Graphify when you use the connection. Code queries operate on repositories already indexed in your Graphify workspace.

Some tools save memory or change the selected workspace. Review tool requests and approve changes only when intended. Graphify authentication credentials are managed by VS Code.

Existing Graphify connections

If you already added the same Graphify endpoint manually in mcp.json, use either that connection or this extension’s connection to avoid seeing duplicate tools. This extension does not edit or remove your existing configuration.
