Ghostpilot for VS Code

Explain, review, optimise or solve the code you select, with Ghostpilot. Answers appear in a panel beside your code, or in the Ghostpilot Mac app's overlay when the app is running.

Where answers appear

Editor panel (any OS, and with the Mac App Store edition): the first time, Ghostpilot opens your browser to sign in (Apple, Google or an email code) and brings you back to the editor. Works in VS Code, VS Code Insiders, Cursor, Windsurf and VSCodium.
Mac app overlay: with the Ghostpilot app from ghostpilotai.tech running, answers go to its overlay instead.

Setting Ghostpilot: Answer In chooses: auto (the overlay when the app is running, otherwise the panel), app or editor.

Privacy and plans

The code you send goes to Ghostpilot and its AI provider to write the answer, and isn't stored beyond usage metering. Your sign-in is kept in the system keychain through VS Code's secret storage; Ghostpilot: Sign Out ends that session on the server too.
