Motivation

As a developer, I often need lightweight scratch space that doesn't clutter a repository. Draft Notes provides that, keeping drafts either global or workspace‑specific. Notes open directly in the editor, and simple actions (rename, delete, move) are available from context menus.

Features

  • 🧭 Activity Bar View: A "Draft Notes" sidebar view with a simple tree
  • 🌐 Two Scopes: "Global Drafts" and "Workspace Drafts" grouped at the top
  • ➕ Quick Create: Plus icon in the view title to create a global note
  • ✏️ Context Actions: Move between scopes, Rename…, and Delete

How to Use

  1. Click the "Draft Notes" icon in the Activity Bar.
  2. Create a note via the plus icon, then enter a note name.
  3. Open a note by clicking it, then it will open in the editor.
  4. Rename or delete a note from the item's context menu.
  5. Move a note between Global and Workspace via the context menu.

Requirements

  • VSCode version 1.104.3 or higher
