Ash Lumen

A monochromatic VS Code theme. Hierarchy through luminance, not hue.

Variants

• Ash Lumen — dark theme
• Ash Lumen Light — light theme

Philosophy

• Monochrome first — color is noise; hierarchy lives in the gray spectrum
• Semantic color only — color reserved for meaning, never decoration
• Desaturated calm — even errors use muted tones

Install

Search "Ash Lumen" in the VS Code extensions panel, or:

ext install edfl.ash-lumen

Publishing

cd vscode
pnpm install
pnpm run package    # creates .vsix
pnpm run publish    # publishes to marketplace

You need a Personal Access Token from Azure DevOps. Run npx @vscode/vsce login edfl first.
