Dot Collab

Companion for VS Code, Cursor, and other VS Code forks. Same account and workspaces as the web app at workspace.dotcollab.ai. The web app stays; this is a second client.

Install

Click Install in the Marketplace, then open the Dot Collab icon in the activity bar.

Use

  1. Sign In with the same email you use on the web, or Sign In with Access Token if you have a dotc_ token.
  2. Pick organization, project, and workspace (the same lists as the web).
  3. Chat in the sidebar. Issues and todos appear in Issues and todos.
  4. Open this workspace on web opens the existing web app for that workspace.

Sign-out clears only this extension’s stored token. It does not log you out of the web app.

MCP for your coding agent

The sidebar shows whether your agent is connected: not connected, connected, or connected but not yet in this workspace.

Add MCP (browser sign-in) writes Dot Collab into this IDE’s local MCP config and keeps your other servers. Email-login JWT is never written into that file.

Add MCP (access token) is available after you sign in with a dotc_ token.

If the file cannot be written, the snippet is copied to the clipboard so you can paste it.

Ask the agent to join the workspace. The extension does not join for it.
