VS Code Digimon 🐾

Bring the Digital World straight into your editor! VS Code Digimon allows your favorite digital companions to live right inside your Visual Studio Code workspace. They will walk around, idle, and keep you company while you code.

🌟 Features

  • Three Classic Digimon: Choose between Agumon, Gabumon, or Patamon!
  • Fully Animated: Your Digimon will autonomously walk around the screen, sit down to rest, and keep you company.
  • Interactive: Try hovering your mouse over your Digimon to hear what they have to say!
  • Customizable: Adjust their size, change their walking speed, and spawn as many Digimon as you want.

🚀 How to Use

When you open VS Code, check your File Explorer tab. Near the bottom, you will see a new Digital World panel!

Once the panel is open, you will find two interactive buttons on the panel's title bar:

  • The + Button (Spawn): Opens a drop-down menu allowing you to summon your favorite Digimon companion. (To prevent chaos, you can only have a maximum of 1 per Digimon type active on your screen at once!)
  • The Trash Button (Remove): Opens a drop-down menu listing all of the currently active Digimons on your screen. Select one, and it will be safely returned to the digital world.

(You can still manually use the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P) to run Digimon: Start Digimon Session, Digimon: Spawn Digimon, and Digimon: Remove All Digimon as well).

⚙️ Configuration Settings

You can customize your experience in the VS Code Settings (Ctrl+, / Cmd+,):

  • vscode-digimon.digimonType: The default Digimon deployed when starting the session (agumon, gabumon, or patamon).
  • vscode-digimon.digimonSize: The size of the Digimon sprite (small, medium, or large).
  • vscode-digimon.speedMultiplier: Adjust how fast your Digimon paces back and forth (e.g. 1.5 for 50% faster, or 0.5 for half-speed).
