daglane

Fast, local dbt project lineage and navigation inside VS Code and Cursor.

daglane reads the dbt project files already open in your editor and builds a source-based graph without requiring an account, warehouse credentials, project upload, or manifest.json.

Supported editors

Install daglane from the normal release channel in current VS Code and Cursor. Other VS Code-compatible editors are untested.

• Focus Model lineage on the active model and expand upstream or downstream independently.
• Explore one dbt project or the full multi-project workspace.
• Open models directly from the graph and follow locally installed package dependencies.
• Use Cmd/Ctrl-click definition navigation for supported ref(), source(), macro, doc(), and function() targets.
• Inspect workspace resource totals and cross-project dependencies in Summary.
• Copy the visible graph or save it as PNG or editable SVG.

Product boundary

daglane derives lineage from workspace source files. A generated dbt manifest is not required at runtime. Unsupported or unresolved dbt behavior is reported conservatively rather than guessed.

Manifest parity verification is a development experiment. It is not included in the published package.

Use daglane: Send Feedback from the Command Palette, or open Summary → Send feedback. Enter your name, company if relevant, and a description of the issue. daglane opens the completed draft in your email app or Gmail for review before you send it.
