CompletionPrism for VS Code

This extension is for illuminis business customers. It requires a paid CompletionPrism business workspace on an active plan, and an invitation to that workspace from your administrator. Installing it without one gets you a sign-in screen and nothing behind it.

Open it and type

Press the CompletionPrism icon in the activity bar, or Ctrl Alt C (Cmd Option C on a Mac). The cursor is already in the box. Type what you want and press Enter: the agent works in the folder you have open, the same agent as the comprism terminal tool, and every answer ends with a receipt saying what it cost and what it saved against the model you would otherwise have used.

What it does

• Knows what you are looking at. The open file and your selection go with the question. @ any file, @problems for the editor's errors, @terminal for a terminal's output, or paste a screenshot.
• Shows every change in VS Code's diff view. In Approve changes, each change opens as it is made, with Keep and Undo on every block.
• You decide how much it may do. Plan first, Approve changes, Edit freely, Read only, and Full access when your company allows it.
• Help where the problem is. Fix with CompletionPrism on the light bulb, a right click menu on a selection, a commit message in Source Control.
• Go back to any message, fork a conversation, or undo a whole job.
• Several conversations in tabs, History with search and groups, and conversations that come back after a reload.
• Home and Sessions in the editor: what your work cost and the decision behind every step.

It leaves your other tools alone

CompletionPrism is its own app. It never changes Claude Code, Codex, Copilot or any other extension or tool, never sends their work through CompletionPrism, and uses only its own names, settings and files. Version 1.2's "Measure Claude Code" is gone; if it changed Claude Code's settings, one notice offers to put them back and removes only that line.

Getting started

1. Install the extension.
2. Press the CompletionPrism icon and choose Sign in.
3. Enter your workspace name, for example acme, and approve the code in your browser.

That is the whole setup. Everything else comes from your workspace.

What it reads and what it sends

It sends what you type, the attachments you chose or it attached (the open file, your selection, files you mention), and what the agent reads or runs as steps. Secret files, files your editor hides and files git ignores are never read unless you name them. "CompletionPrism: What this extension has sent" lists it for the session. Your sign in and any provider key are kept in your operating system's key store, never in a settings file.

Removing it

Uninstalling removes the extension and its sign in. It leaves your project files, your COMPRISM.md instructions, your sessions in your workspace, and ~/.completionprism/, which the terminal tool shares. If you do not use the terminal tool either, delete that folder.
