Usage

1. Enter OpenAI API key

To work with Codelines, you need to enter your OpenAI API key. You can create API key in OpenAI console

2. Ask to execute coding task

Start a new chat with Codelines to ask it to execute any coding task using your source code.

3. Review changes in source control

After task completion, view "Source Control" sidebar to see changes.

Pricing

The Codelines extension is completely free; we do not require you to provide a credit card, and all features are available immediately after installation. However, Codelines uses OpenAI's LLM, and at the moment, only the OpenAI API can be utilized. Therefore, to work with Codelines, an OpenAI key is required, which is not free.

Privacy

The Codelines plugin does not send any code or user prompts to its own backend. The only data sent are analytical events for purposes such as measuring DAU and detecting errors.

However, for online functionality, an LLM provider is required, and currently, the only supported provider is OpenAI. Therefore, to work with the extension, parts of the source code as well as task descriptions are sent to the OpenAI API.
