ClosedLoop AI for VS Code

ClosedLoop AI turns what customers say in calls, support tickets and surveys into product insights. This extension brings that evidence into your editor, so you can see who asked for the work in front of you before you build it.

You need a ClosedLoop AI workspace. Sign up at closedloop.sh.

What it does

One-click MCP

Installing the extension adds the ClosedLoop AI MCP to VS Code's MCP list. Start it once from MCP: List Servers, sign in to ClosedLoop AI in the browser window that opens, and every agent in VS Code chat can use the ClosedLoop AI tools.

The MCP connects to your workspace's region. US workspaces (app.closedloop.sh) need nothing; EU workspaces (eu.app.closedloop.sh) set ClosedLoop AI: Region to eu in Settings.

Who asked for this

A Who asked for this view in the Explorer reads the GitHub issue number from your branch name (for example feat/123-export-reports), takes that issue's title, and shows:

  • the customer themes that match it, each with its own number of product insights, customers and deal blockers;
  • the revenue at stake: the current ARR of each theme's paying customers, with the largest of them by name (shown as "at least" when some paying customers' ARR is not known);
  • what customers said, quoted word for word, with the customer who said it.

Each theme keeps its own numbers. An insight can belong to two themes, so the numbers are never added together.

When there is nothing to show, the view says why: the branch is not named for an issue, the repository is not on GitHub, the issue cannot be read without a GitHub sign-in, ClosedLoop AI is not connected yet, or no product insights match the issue.

@closedloop in chat

Ask product questions in VS Code chat:

@closedloop what do customers say about exports?
@closedloop which deal blockers mention single sign-on?

@closedloop answers with the ClosedLoop AI tools, names the customers behind each point and quotes them. It only reads; it never changes anything in your workspace.

Requirements

  • VS Code 1.101 or later, with a chat model available for @closedloop.
  • A ClosedLoop AI workspace.
  • For Who asked for this: a GitHub repository, and a GitHub sign-in in VS Code when the repository is private.

Editors that cannot add an MCP from an extension can add the ClosedLoop AI MCP by hand: see the setup guide.

Privacy

The extension sends the title of the GitHub issue your branch names to your ClosedLoop AI workspace, through the MCP you signed in to. @closedloop sends your question, and what the ClosedLoop AI tools return for it, to the chat model you picked in VS Code. VS Code holds the ClosedLoop AI and GitHub sign-ins; the extension stores no token of its own.
