Clarixa for VS Code

Bring your Clarixa learning task into your editor. Read what to build, ask for context-aware hints, and submit your work for verification — without leaving VS Code.

The extension activates automatically when your workspace contains a CLARIXA_TASK.json file (created for you in GitHub Codespaces, or set up manually for local work).

Features

Task Panel

A read-only card in the Clarixa sidebar showing exactly what to build: title, description, step-by-step guide, the definition of done, common pitfalls, and helpful resources. Verification results (pass/fail checkmarks) appear here after you sync.

Ask Clarixa

A chat sidebar for when you're stuck. Type a question and the extension sends it — along with the file you currently have open — to Clarixa for a context-aware response. You get hints that move you forward, not finished answers.

Sync & Verify

One button (available in the editor title bar and via the command palette) that runs git add → commit → push, then submits your repository for review. Structural checks plus an AI review run against your work and stream results back into the Task Panel.

Commands

Command Description
Clarixa: Sync & Verify Commit, push, and submit your work for verification
Clarixa: Ask Clarixa Open the Ask Clarixa chat
Clarixa: Setup Task Manually create a CLARIXA_TASK.json for local work
Clarixa: Show Task Info Display the current task context

Getting Started

  1. Open a Clarixa task in GitHub Codespaces — the task context is fetched automatically and the extension activates.
  2. Or, for local work, run Clarixa: Setup Task from the command palette (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+P) and follow the prompts.
  3. Click the Clarixa icon in the activity bar to open the Task Panel and Ask Clarixa.
  4. When you're ready, run Clarixa: Sync & Verify.

Requirements

  • VS Code ^1.85.0
  • A Clarixa account and an assigned task
  • Git installed and configured (for Sync & Verify)

Privacy

Ask Clarixa sends your question and the currently open file (truncated) to the Clarixa backend to generate hints. Sync & Verify pushes your commits to your own repository and submits the repository URL for review. No other files are transmitted.
