Smart SVG AnimationCreate SVG animations in VS Code using a visual timeline. Import your artwork, select individual layers, apply effects and preview timing without writing animation code. Run Smart SVG Animation: Open Editor from the Command Palette. Use Import SVG to choose artwork, or right-click an SVG file and select Smart SVG Animation: Open SVG / Project. Save an animation project to continue editing later. Exported files are written through VS Code's Save dialog. Free and ProFree features include basic layer animation, timeline editing, saving/opening projects and SVG/HTML export for projects up to five seconds that use free effects. Pro unlocks effects marked Pro, longer timelines, video/GIF rendering and advanced code/Lottie exports. Some export capabilities depend on the codecs supported by your installed VS Code version; Lottie supports a subset of SVG animation features. Pro is an optional USD 25/year, automatically renewing subscription, purchased through an external Polar checkout. Applicable taxes and final pricing are shown at checkout. In Settings, choose Get Pro, then copy your purchase license key from the Polar customer portal and select Activate license. Manage renewal and cancellation in the portal. Deactivating an installation does not cancel billing. The current Polar license benefit is shared with the browser edition and uses its activation allowance. Microsoft Store purchases are separate. Online license verification is required at launch and periodically while using Pro. Failed verification locks Pro without deleting the project; save your work before closing the editor. Privacy and securityOrdinary editing happens locally. License credentials are stored by the Extension Host using VS Code SecretStorage. Artwork is not sent to Polar. The extension package includes PRIVACY.md with data handling details. AI tools are optional and require your own provider API key. Prompts and submitted artwork are sent to the provider only when using those tools, and provider charges may apply. AI keys are session-only. The extension requires a trusted workspace and supports desktop VS Code; VS Code for the Web and remote/virtual filesystem editing are not supported in this release.
