CarryNote

Leave yourself a clear next step before you close a project. CarryNote is a small checklist in VS Code's Explorer sidebar. Each workspace has its own reminders, and any reminder can link back to the file and line where you stopped.

Pick up where you left off

1. Open a folder or workspace in VS Code.
2. In Explorer, expand CarryNote.
3. Type a reminder, then press Enter or select Add.
4. To save your place in code, put your cursor on the line and select Link current line on the reminder.

When you return, select the file-and-line link to jump back to that spot. Check the reminder when it's done, or uncheck it if you need to revisit it. You can also Edit its text, Unlink its code location, or select × to delete it.

Your reminders stay with your workspace

Changes save automatically in VS Code's workspace storage. Opening the same workspace again brings back its checklist. Several folders opened together as one workspace share one list.

The extension doesn't create files in your project or require an account. Reminders are stored in your VS Code environment and aren't shared with your team through the repository. Code links remember a file and line number, so they may need updating if that code moves.
