Overview

The BrowserStack extension for Visual Studio Code is a powerful tool that allows developers to preview and test their locally hosted websites on BrowserStack’s real device cloud, directly from the VS Code environment. This extension requires a paid account with BrowserStack.

Installation

To install the VSCode extension, follow these steps:

1. Open VS Code.
2. Press Ctrl+Shift+X or Cmd+Shift+X to open the Extensions panel.
3. Type BrowerStack into the search bar.
4. Click on the BrowserStack extension.
5. Click the Install button.

Alternatively, you can download the extension from the Visual Studio Code Marketplace.

Usage

To use the BrowserStack VSCode extension, follow these steps:

1. Sign-in either from the welcome page or through the extension on the activity bar.
2. Accept the request to be redirected to BrowserStack via the pop up.
3. Once you are logged in on VSCode, enter the URL of your public or private website and select your preferred device and start testing.
