Mulberry Oats

A warm, dichromatic VS Code theme by Backtier Labs. Two hue families, oat (warm tan) and mulberry (warm purple-brown), on a creamy oat canvas. Cozy, earthy, and easy on the eyes.

Installation

1. Open VS Code
2. Go to Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
3. Search for Mulberry Oats
4. Click Install
5. Open the Command Palette (Ctrl+K Ctrl+T / Cmd+K Cmd+T) and select Mulberry Oats

Design

The palette stays entirely within the warm spectrum - no cool neutrals, no blue-grays. The result is a cohesive, low-distraction editing environment that feels warm without sacrificing readability.

Three visual zones:

Palette

Oat ramp - surfaces, fills, and neutral text anchors sampled from the Backtier brand mark.

Mulberry ramp - warm purple-brown accent for interactive elements, keywords, functions, parameters, and primary syntax hierarchy.

Claret (#8C3F5D) - a distinct second accent, reserved exclusively for class, type, interface, and namespace names.

Semantic colors - sage (strings/success), brick (errors/regex), honey (warnings UI only), slate (info/diff).
