Agent Policy Packs

Distributes a consistent agent auto-approval policy across a team and keeps an audit log VS Code doesn't.

Price: $12/seat-mo

Included free

  • Role-based policy template library (Junior / Senior / CI-only)
  • Local audit log of every policy pack apply and drift check

Unlocked with a license

  • Drift alerts when local settings differ from the assigned pack

Getting a license

Open the Agent Policy Packs sidebar (activity bar icon) and click Get License. After purchase you'll receive a license key — paste it into the sidebar and click Activate License. Keys are machine-locked; use Move to another machine… in the sidebar before reinstalling on a new device.

About the policy pack settings

Each pack writes to VS Code's chat.tools.* / chat.agent.* settings namespace as documented at the time of writing. That namespace is still stabilizing, so setting ids in the bundled packs may need adjusting as the upstream API changes.

Roadmap (not implemented yet)

  • One-click team policy rollout to a new teammate's settings — needs a shared backend this extension doesn't have.
  • Team-synced audit log rollup — also backend-dependent; today's audit log is local-only. Both are planned as v2/v3 stretch goals.
