Installation

  1. Open Visual Studio Code.
  2. Go to the Extensions view by clicking on the square icon on the sidebar or pressing Ctrl+Shift+X.
  3. Search for AsyncLine.
  4. Click Install to install the extension.

Usage

Adding a Comment

  1. Place your cursor at the line of code where you want to add a comment.
  2. Use the mic button or the desktop button in the status bar at the bottom or choose Record audio comment or Record video comment from the command palette, then record your message.
  3. Press Stop to stop recording. Once recorded, your comment will be attached to the line of code. Team members can access these comments anytime.

Viewing Comments

  1. Navigate to any line of code with an AsyncLine icon.
  2. Hover over the audio or video comment to open context menu.
  3. Hit "Playback" inside the context menu to play the audio or video.

Known Issues

  • Linux Compatibility: Currently supports only Fedora (full-screen capture only). Ubuntu compatibility issues are under investigation.
  • Audio Quality on MacOS: Audio quality may be suboptimal during video recordings.
