Encrypted project backups to anondrop.io and anondrop.net straight from VS Code. Zero dependencies.
How it works
Your workspace is packed in memory into a password-protected AES-256 zip (WinZip AE-2, opens in 7-Zip, WinRAR, Keka, etc.).
A fresh random 28-character password is generated for every backup.
The archive is uploaded in chunks with per-chunk retry, then downloaded back once to verify the SHA-256 hash matches 1:1.
Nothing is kept on disk except the link and password inside your local vault (~/.anondrop-vscode).
Usage
Open the AnonDrop icon in the activity bar:
Cloud upload icon — run a manual backup now.
Expand any backup — browse folders and files inside the remote archive.
Click any file — open a side-by-side diff against your local file.
Restore — restore a single file, a folder, or the whole backup from the inline buttons or context menu.
... menu — toggle auto-backup, copy your account key, or export/import your vault JSON.
