What It Does

A local export tool for the changes you're working on. It gathers staged, unstaged and non-ignored untracked files relative to HEAD, giving a reviewer the original and current text alongside a patch and a structured manifest.

Use the resulting ZIP with a review tool of your choice, or share it with a teammate after checking its contents. No AI account or API key is required.

How It Works

1. Open the export action — choose Export Changes in Git Source Control or run Git AI Review Pack: Export Changes from the Command Palette.
2. Prepare the preview — select a repository if prompted, then let the local scan classify your changes.
3. Review included files — check the paths, counts and Added / Modified / Deleted / Renamed statuses.
4. Review excluded files — read the generic reasons. Excluded file contents are absent from the ZIP and any AI review based on it.
5. Export the ZIP — choose Export ZIP… and save to a new filename outside Git repositories. Inspect the archive before sharing.

Git state and included files are checked again before generation. You can cancel the preview without creating a ZIP.

Staged and unstaged edits are combined into the final on-disk version. A detected rename may combine two changed paths into one included file.

Getting Started

You need VS Code 1.140.0 or later, Git available on PATH, and a trusted workspace with local filesystem access. Ordinary use requires no Node.js, npm or source checkout.

1. Install Git AI Review Pack in VS Code, then open your Git project and save your changes.
2. Run Git AI Review Pack: Export Changes from the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Shift+P on macOS), or select Export Changes in Git Source Control.
3. Review the preview, choose Export ZIP…, and select a new filename outside Git repositories. Existing files are never overwritten.
4. Inspect the ZIP locally before sharing. The completion message lets you view exclusions or reveal the ZIP.

For a supplied .vsix file, use Extensions → … → Install from VSIX… and reload if prompted.

What's Inside the ZIP?

Added files have no original version; deleted files have no current version. Renames retain both paths. Text bytes, line endings, UTF-8 BOMs and missing final newlines are preserved.

Privacy & Security

Everything runs locally. The extension does not contact an AI service, upload source code, collect telemetry, stage changes or change Git configuration.

Sensitive filenames, likely credentials, binary content, unsupported text, symlinks and unsafe paths are excluded. Both original and current eligible content are checked: a finding on either side excludes the whole file and its patch. Reports identify the affected version using generic reasons. Excluded file contents are absent from the ZIP and any AI review based on it. Lockfiles and documentation receive the same checks as other text files.

If Git rejects a repository because its owner differs from the current process, Trust for this export authorizes only that exact repository for that operation. Approve only repositories you recognize; this does not change filesystem permissions or save a global trust rule.

Secret detection is heuristic. It can miss secrets or exclude harmless examples. Always inspect the archive before sharing it. Unchanged files are outside the export and are not scanned.

Limitations

• Exports compare HEAD to the final working tree, not arbitrary branches, committed-but-unpushed work or a separate staged snapshot. Unsaved editor buffers are not included.
• UTF-8 text only: 5 MiB per file version, 64 MiB total included content, and 5,000 changed paths. Binary assets and submodule contents are excluded; export a submodule separately if needed.
• Untracked files ignored by repository rules are omitted. Git system/global configuration, including global ignore rules, is intentionally not loaded. Git's tracked-file visibility flags still apply.
• Resolve merge conflicts first. Detected concurrent edits stop the export; retry after saving and pausing edits. This is not an atomic filesystem snapshot.
• Rename detection may represent some moves as a deletion and addition. Discovery is bounded; use manual selection for repositories outside its scan.
• Virtual filesystems are unsupported. Missing Git objects are not fetched automatically.

FAQ

Does this review my code with AI?

It prepares the package and a review prompt. You decide whether and where to share it; no AI request is sent.

Why is a file missing?

Check Excluded Files in the preview and the archive's summary/manifest. Sensitive paths, likely secrets, binary files and unsupported content are common reasons. Ignored untracked files and unchanged files are outside the export scope.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Use Cancel, press Escape in the preview, or close its tab. Cancelling the preview creates no ZIP. Scanning and generation also provide cancellable progress.

How do updates work?

VS Code handles Marketplace extension updates according to your update preferences. Installing a VSIX manually disables auto-update for that extension by default; you can manage it in the extension's menu. See VS Code's extension update documentation.

ماذا تفعل الإضافة؟

إضافة إلى VS Code تجمع التغييرات المرحّلة وغير المرحّلة والملفات الجديدة غير المتجاهلة، مقارنةً بآخر تثبيت HEAD. يحصل المراجع على النسخة الأصلية والنسخة الحالية من الملفات النصية، مع ملف فروق ووصف منظّم للتغييرات.

يمكنك استخدام الحزمة مع أداة المراجعة التي تفضّلها أو مشاركتها مع زميل بعد فحصها. لا تحتاج إلى حساب ذكاء اصطناعي أو مفتاح API.

كيف تعمل؟

2. جهّز المعاينة — اختر المستودع إذا طُلب منك، وانتظر الفحص المحلي لتصنيف التغييرات.
3. راجع الملفات المضمّنة — تحقّق من المسارات والأعداد وحالات الإضافة والتعديل والحذف وإعادة التسمية.
4. راجع الملفات المستبعدة — اطّلع على أسباب الاستبعاد العامة. لن تتضمن الحزمة محتوى هذه الملفات، ولن تشملها مراجعة بالذكاء الاصطناعي تعتمد عليها.
5. صدّر ملف ZIP — اختر Export ZIP… واحفظ باسم جديد خارج مستودعات Git، ثم افحص الحزمة قبل مشاركتها.

تُراجع حالة Git والملفات المضمّنة مرة أخرى قبل إنشاء الحزمة. يمكنك إلغاء المعاينة دون إنشاء ملف ZIP.

تُدمج التعديلات المرحّلة وغير المرحّلة في النسخة النهائية الموجودة على القرص. وقد تُجمع مسارات الحذف والإضافة في ملف واحد عند اكتشاف إعادة تسمية.

البدء السريع

تحتاج إلى VS Code 1.140.0 أو أحدث، وأداة Git متاحة في PATH، ومساحة عمل موثوقة تسمح بالوصول إلى الملفات المحلية. لا يحتاج الاستخدام العادي إلى Node.js أو npm أو تنزيل الكود المصدري.

1. ثبّت Git AI Review Pack في VS Code، ثم افتح مشروع Git واحفظ تعديلاتك.
2. شغّل Git AI Review Pack: Export Changes من لوحة الأوامر (Ctrl+Shift+P في Windows وLinux، أو Cmd+Shift+P في macOS)، أو اختر Export Changes من Git Source Control.
3. راجع المعاينة، ثم اختر Export ZIP… وحدّد اسم ملف جديد خارج مستودعات Git. لا تُستبدل الملفات الموجودة.

لتثبيت ملف .vsix، افتح Extensions → … → Install from VSIX… واختر الملف، ثم أعد التحميل إذا طُلب ذلك.

ماذا تحتوي الحزمة؟

لا توجد نسخة أصلية للملف المضاف، ولا نسخة حالية للملف المحذوف. تحتفظ إعادة التسمية بالمسارين. تبقى البايتات النصية ونهايات الأسطر وعلامة UTF-8 BOM وغياب السطر الأخير كما هي.

الخصوصية والأمان

تعمل الإضافة محليًا؛ لا تتصل بخدمات ذكاء اصطناعي، ولا ترفع الكود، ولا تجمع بيانات استخدام، ولا تُرحّل تغييرات، ولا تعدّل إعدادات Git.

تُستبعد أسماء الملفات الحساسة وبيانات الاعتماد المحتملة والمحتويات الثنائية والنصوص غير المدعومة والروابط الرمزية والمسارات غير الآمنة. تُفحص النسختان الأصلية والحالية المؤهلتان؛ وإذا وُجد سبب استبعاد في إحداهما، يُستبعد الملف كله وفروقه. توضّح التقارير النسخة المتأثرة بأسباب عامة فقط. لن تتضمن الحزمة محتوى الملفات المستبعدة، ولن تشملها أي مراجعة بالذكاء الاصطناعي تعتمد على هذه الحزمة. تخضع ملفات قفل الاعتماديات والتوثيق للفحص نفسه دون استثناءات خاصة بأسمائها.

إذا رفض Git المستودع لاختلاف مالكه عن مستخدم العملية الحالية، يتيح Trust for this export الثقة في ذلك المسار لهذه العملية فقط. لا توافق إلا على مستودع تعرفه؛ فهذا الإذن لا يغيّر صلاحيات الملفات ولا يحفظ قاعدة ثقة عامة.

الفحص استدلالي، وليس ضمانًا لكشف كل الأسرار. قد يفوّت بيانات حساسة أو يستبعد أمثلة سليمة؛ افحص الحزمة قبل مشاركتها دائمًا. الملفات غير المتغيّرة خارج نطاق التصدير والفحص.

حدود الاستخدام

• المقارنة بين HEAD وشجرة العمل النهائية؛ لا تشمل مقارنة فروع عشوائية أو تثبيتات لم تُدفع بعد أو لقطة مستقلة للمرحلة. تعديلات المحرر غير المحفوظة غير مشمولة.
• نصوص UTF-8 فقط، بحد 5 MiB لكل نسخة ملف، و64 MiB للمحتوى المضمّن إجمالًا، و5,000 مسار متغيّر. الأصول الثنائية ومحتويات المستودعات الفرعية مستبعدة؛ صدّر المستودع الفرعي بصورة مستقلة عند الحاجة.
• تُهمل الملفات الجديدة المتجاهلة بقواعد المستودع. لا تُحمّل إعدادات Git العامة أو إعدادات النظام، بما فيها قواعد التجاهل العامة. وتظل قواعد Git الخاصة بإظهار الملفات المتتبّعة سارية.
• يجب حل تعارضات الدمج أولًا. يتوقف التصدير عند اكتشاف تعديل متزامن؛ احفظ الملفات وأوقف التعديلات مؤقتًا ثم أعد المحاولة. ليست الحزمة لقطة ذرّية لنظام الملفات.
• قد تظهر بعض عمليات النقل كحذف وإضافة. نطاق اكتشاف المستودعات محدود؛ استخدم الاختيار اليدوي للمواقع الأخرى.
• أنظمة الملفات الافتراضية غير مدعومة، ولا تُجلب كائنات Git الناقصة تلقائيًا.

أسئلة شائعة

هل تراجع الإضافة الكود بالذكاء الاصطناعي؟

تجهّز الحزمة وتعليمات المراجعة فقط. أنت تقرّر إن كنت ستشاركها ومع أي أداة؛ لا يُرسل طلب إلى خدمة ذكاء اصطناعي.

لماذا لم يظهر ملف في الحزمة؟

راجع Excluded Files في المعاينة، ثم الملخص وملف الوصف داخل الحزمة. من الأسباب الشائعة المسارات الحساسة والأسرار المحتملة والمحتوى الثنائي أو غير المدعوم. الملفات غير المتغيّرة والملفات الجديدة المتجاهلة خارج النطاق أصلًا.

هل يمكن الإلغاء؟

نعم، عبر Cancel أو مفتاح Escape داخل المعاينة أو إغلاق تبويبها. إلغاء المعاينة لا ينشئ ملف ZIP. يمكن أيضًا إلغاء الفحص وإنشاء الحزمة من إشعار التقدم.

كيف تصل التحديثات؟

يدير VS Code تحديثات Marketplace وفق تفضيلاتك. عند تثبيت VSIX يدويًا، يُعطّل التحديث التلقائي لتلك الإضافة افتراضيًا؛ يمكنك إدارته من قائمة الإضافة. راجع توثيق تحديث الإضافات في VS Code.
