Getting Started

1. Install the extension

Install PasteDB from the VS Code Marketplace.

2. Open the Dashboard

Open the Command Palette ("Ctrl+Shift+P") and run:

PasteDB: Open Dashboard

or click the PasteDB icon in the Activity Bar.

3. Enter your API Key

Paste your PasteDB API key into the dashboard and click Save Settings.

Your API key is stored securely using VS Code Secret Storage.

Uploading Code

1. Upload Current File

Open a file and run:

PasteDB: Upload Current File

2. Upload Selected Text

Select some code, then run:

PasteDB: Upload Selected Text

Dashboard

The dashboard lets you configure:

• API Key
• Default Visibility
• Default Expiration
• Copy URL after upload
• Open paste after upload

Recent Pastes

The Activity Bar contains a Recent Pastes list.

You can:

• Open a paste
• Copy its URL
• Remove it from history

Privacy

Your API key is never stored inside your project.

It is securely stored using VS Code Secret Storage.

Requirements

A free PasteDB account and API key are required.
