A second file explorer on the opposite side of the window.
Working in a repo that holds both a backend and a frontend? Keep one in the regular Explorer and open the other in TwinRoot, which lives in VS Code's secondary sidebar — always on the side opposite your primary sidebar.
Usage
Right-click any folder in the Explorer and choose Open in TwinRoot (Second Sidebar).
The secondary sidebar opens on the other side showing only that folder.
You can also run TwinRoot: Choose Folder... from the Command Palette, or right-click a folder inside TwinRoot and pick Set as TwinRoot Folder to drill down. The chosen folder is remembered per workspace.
Features
File tree with your file icon theme and git/problem decorations
New file / new folder, rename, delete (to trash), copy path, reveal in file manager
Open in integrated terminal and find in folder, scoped to the TwinRoot folder
The two explorers stay independent: opening a file in one does not move the selection in the other
Updates automatically when files change on disk
