MR Creator

VS Code extension for creating Merge Requests on GitLab, GitHub, and Bitbucket with built-in license management.

Quick Start

1. Get a License

Open the MR Creator sidebar in the Activity Bar and click the status bar item, or run MR Creator: License Menu from the Command Palette. Select Buy License and follow the Telegram bot instructions.

2. Connect a Git Provider

Click the + button in the Providers panel or run MR Creator: Connect Git Provider:

  1. Select your provider (GitLab / GitHub / Bitbucket)
  2. Paste a personal access token
  3. Optionally enter a default assignee

How to get a token:

Provider Where
GitLab Settings → Access Tokens → api scope
GitHub Settings → Developer Settings → Personal access tokens → repo scope
Bitbucket Personal Settings → App passwords → Repositories: Read/Write

3. Create a Merge Request

  • Run MR Creator: Create Merge Request from the Command Palette
  • Or use the editor title bar buttons (when a git repo is open)
  • Or right-click a provider in the sidebar and select Create MR for Provider

License

This extension requires a valid license key. Licenses are issued through the Telegram bot @mr_creator_license_bot.

  • Buy License — purchase a new license
  • Renew License — extend an active license
  • Enter License — activate with an existing key

The license is stored securely in VS Code's SecretStorage and verified locally using ECDSA P-256 signatures.
