Velorai Code

An AI coding assistant inside Visual Studio Code, connected to your Velorai account.

Ask questions about a project, plan changes, edit files and use terminal or MCP tools from one conversation. Velorai Code supports GLM models, saved chat history, Skills, project rules and custom modes.

Get started

  1. Install Velorai Code from the Extensions view in VS Code.
  2. Open the Velorai Code panel and choose English or Russian.
  3. Connect your Velorai account in the browser, or enter a personal API key.
  4. Open a project and start a conversation. Review requested tool permissions before approving them.

The Velorai API address and default model are configured for you. Installing the extension is free; model requests use your Velorai balance and are billed at the prices shown in your account. A Velorai account and available balance are required for paid generation.

What you can do

  • Code and plan: switch modes, choose a model and select Low, High or Max reasoning effort when supported.
  • Continue conversations: open saved chat history with the history button beside New Chat.
  • Use project tools: read and edit files, inspect diffs, run terminal commands and work with checkpoints.
  • Connect MCP and Skills: manage MCP servers, reusable Skills and project rules from Settings.
  • Check your account: view available balance, reservations, monthly usage and API limits from the account menu.
  • Use your theme: the interface follows VS Code dark, light and high-contrast themes.

Compatible .roo project rules, Skills and MCP definitions can be imported from existing assistants. Existing files are preserved, and imported MCP servers start disabled.

Requirements and preview status

Requires Visual Studio Code 1.100 or later on desktop and a network connection to Velorai. Git is needed for Git-based checkpoint features. MCP servers may require their own runtimes and credentials.

This is an early preview. The packaged code uses JavaScript and WebAssembly and contains no platform-specific native binaries. Manual release verification currently covers macOS on Apple Silicon. Windows, Linux, Intel macOS and remote workspaces have not yet completed the same release verification. Browser-only VS Code is not supported.

Your account and data

Browser sign-in requires approval on the Velorai website and creates a separate personal API key. Credentials are stored through VS Code SecretStorage. Requests and the selected project context are sent to the configured model service. Review the Velorai privacy policy and terms.

Advanced third-party providers and MCP services have their own authentication, permissions and terms. Do not include API keys or private project content in public bug reports.

Support

For installation, account or API issues, use Velorai support. Include your extension version, operating system and a request ID when available; never send your password or full API key.

Development and private installation

Use pnpm 10.8.1 and Node 22.23.1. Run pnpm install --frozen-lockfile, then pnpm vsix. Packages are written to bin/velorai-code-<version>.vsix. A VSIX can also be installed through Extensions > Install from VSIX.
