Context Pack

Package source code into structured context for AI-assisted development.

Context Pack is a Visual Studio Code extension that lets you export the currently active source file directly from your editor. It is designed to reduce the friction of preparing code when working with AI coding assistants, code review workflows, debugging tools, and other developer workflows that require source context.

Usage

1. Open a project in Visual Studio Code.
2. Open the file you want to provide as context.
3. Open the Command Palette with Ctrl+Shift+P.
4. Run:

ContextPack: Export Current File

Context Pack processes the currently active editor and generates the exported context for use in your AI-assisted development workflow.

Command

Requirements

• Visual Studio Code 1.125.0 or later

Privacy

Context Pack does not require project source code to be uploaded to an external service for the basic file export workflow.

The extension operates on the file currently open in the active VS Code editor.

Development

Clone the repository and install the dependencies:

git clone <repository-url>
cd context-pack
npm install

Compile the extension:

npm run compile

To run the extension locally, open the project in Visual Studio Code and launch it using the Extension Development Host.
