Vector VttMake for Visual Studio Code

This extension provides editing support for Vector VTTMAKE files, an XML-based description language for vVIRTUALtargets virtual ECUs. The extension supports syntax highlighting, autocompletion and validation. Furthermore, it allows building VTTMAKE files using an installed VttMake tool.

Prerequisites

While editing VTTMAKE files works out of the box, running them requires the VttMake tool, which is part of the vVIRTUALtarget installation.

Usage with vVIRTUALtarget

To generate a virtual ECU from a VTTMAKE file, you can:

  • Start a build task as shown in the video above or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+B. You need to open a folder first.
  • Run the VttMake tool via the command VttMake: Generate virtual ECU, either by clicking the run button in the editor title bar or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+P. You can also register a custom keybinding for this command.

By default, the extension uses the registered VttMake tool as specified in the %vVIRTUALtarget_InstallDir% environment variable. In the extension settings, you can configure a different path if needed. You can also specify custom arguments for the VttMake tool, e.g. add the --verbose argument.

Dependencies

This extension requires the Red Hat XML extension. It is installed via the Marketplace along with this extension. This extension is shipped without any package dependencies.
