ALM-Gerrits Viewer

This Visual Studio Code (VS Code) plugin allows users to fetch tasks from ALM RTC (Rational Team Concert) along with associated gerrits details and display them within VS Code. It provides a simple interface for retrieving and viewing tasks based on the authenticated user's ID.

Installation

Install the ALM-Gerrits Viewer plugin from the marketplace.

Usage

  1. Authenticate with ALM RTC:

    • The first time you run the extension, you'll be prompted to enter your ALM RTC URL,username and password.
    • If the stored credentials are invalid or outdated, you'll be prompted to re-authenticate.
  2. Fetch Tasks:

    • Click on the status bar item labeled Fetch ALM Tasks to fetch the latest tasks from ALM RTC.
    • Alternatively, use the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Shift+P on Mac) to run the "Fetch ALM Tasks" command.
  3. View Tasks:

    • The tasks will be displayed in the "ALM WorkItems" output channel along with associated gerrits.
    • Each task ID and gerrit ID is a clickable link that opens the corresponding ALM RTC task and gerrit request in a web browser.

Troubleshooting

  • If you receive an "Error fetching tasks" message, it could be due to:
    • Incorrect or outdated credentials. Try re-authenticating by clicking the "Fetch Tasks" status bar item.
    • Network issues or server downtime. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and the ALM RTC server is accessible.
  • If authentication is cancelled, you may need to re-authenticate manually by deleting stored credentials and re-launching the extension.
