Sovereign MCP Auditor

See exactly what your AI is doing with MCP.

Traffic inspector, error detection, and latency monitoring for all your MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. Works with Cursor, VS Code, and Claude Desktop.

What Is This?

MCP is the standard protocol for connecting AI tools to data sources — filesystems, databases, APIs, custom servers. When something goes wrong, you see nothing. The AI silently uses bad data. Latency spikes go undetected. Server crashes leave the AI hallucinating on stale state.

Sovereign MCP Auditor sits transparently between your AI and your MCP servers, logging every call, surfacing every error, showing you exactly what's happening.

Install

  1. Install from the VS Code Marketplace or Cursor extension panel
  2. Open the MCP Auditor panel (activity bar icon, or Command Palette → "Open Traffic Inspector")
  3. Click Enable Monitoring
  4. That's it — your workflow is unchanged

What You Get

  • Traffic Inspector — every MCP call with timestamp, latency, status, expandable request/response
  • Server Health — success rate, average latency, slow call detection per server
  • Error Detection — notifications when a server starts failing
  • Zero configuration — reads your existing MCP config automatically

How It Works

The extension reads your existing MCP configuration and rewrites it to route through a transparent proxy process. Your AI tool and MCP servers behave identically. The proxy adds < 1ms overhead and logs every JSON-RPC message.

Restore original config: Disable monitoring anytime via Command Palette or the panel toggle. Your original config is restored instantly. If anything goes wrong, backups are saved to .sovereign/mcp-auditor/backups/.

Privacy

All traffic is logged locally — never sent anywhere. The log lives in memory (up to 500 calls by default) and is cleared when you close VS Code. Optional JSONL persistence coming in v0.2.

Sovereign OS Integration

When running inside Sovereign OS, the auditor automatically feeds MCP organ data into the nervous system. The proprioceptive LLM watches it. Anomalies become pain signals. Your agent knows when MCP is broken without being asked.

Built by Sovereign OS. Sold to the world.
