Toupas for VS Code

Make the app you're working on live, at a link anyone can open, without leaving your editor.

Click Make live in the status bar. Toupas prepares your app, sends it, and gives you a link like corner-shop.toupas.app. When you change something, click it again to update the live app. Only the changed files are sent.

What you can do

  • Make your app live, or update it. Use the status bar, the Toupas sidebar, or Toupas: Make this app live in the command palette. It works for websites and for apps with their own server.
  • See your apps. The Toupas sidebar lists your apps, whether each one is live, and its link. Click an app to open its link.
  • Follow what the live app prints. Use Toupas: Show what the live app prints to see the live app's output as it happens.
  • Take an app offline, or bring it back. Its data is kept while it's offline.
  • Answer Toupas's questions as they come up. For example, Toupas asks whether the live app should start with a copy of the data on your computer.
  • Let the editor's agent use Toupas. In agent mode, the Toupas tools let the agent make apps live and manage them for you.

Getting started

  1. Open your app's folder.
  2. Click Make live in the status bar.
  3. The first time, Toupas installs its free program (no administrator rights needed) and asks you to sign in in your browser.

Your first app has a free trial. Plans and prices: toupas.com/pricing.

Already use the Toupas command line?

The extension uses the same program and the same sign-in, so apps you made live from the terminal show up here too. To use a program somewhere else, set Toupas: Path in Settings.
