PCF Forge

A VS Code extension that provides a GUI wizard and lifecycle manager for Power Apps Component Framework (PCF) controls with modern React.

Features

• Creation Wizard — scaffold a PCF control without typing any CLI commands
• Latest React — bundles the current React version (not locked to platform React 16)
• Templates — Blank, Field Input, Dataset Grid, Card, and Chatbot (react-agent-widget)
• Run / Watch / Stop — control the local test harness from the sidebar
• Build Release — produce a deployable solution .zip with one click

Requirements

• Power Platform CLI (pac)
• Node.js LTS (v18+) and npm
• .NET SDK 6+ (for Build Release only)

Getting Started

1. Open the PCF Forge panel in the Activity Bar (lightning bolt icon)
2. Click + to open the Create Control wizard
3. Fill in your control details, choose a template, and click Create
4. Use the sidebar buttons to Run, Watch, or Stop the test harness
