Claude Watch
Stop staring at the terminal waiting for Claude Code to finish. Claude Watch notifies you the moment Claude is done — so you can switch away, do something else, and come back exactly when needed.
How it works
Claude Watch installs a hook into Claude Code's ~/.claude/settings.json. When Claude finishes responding, the hook fires and Claude Watch either sends a system notification or auto-focuses VS Code — depending on your preference.
No terminal parsing. No polling. No fragile hacks. It uses Claude Code's official hook system.
Notification modes
Configure via Settings → Claude Watch → On Complete:

The notification only fires when VS Code is not already in focus — if you're already there, nothing happens.
Permission alerts
Claude Watch also alerts you when Claude is actually waiting on a decision — a tool-approval prompt or a plan approval. It hooks Claude Code's Notification event (permission_prompt), which fires only when Claude is blocked on you. Auto-approved tools and auto-edit mode never trigger it, so there are no false alarms while Claude reads code or edits autonomously. If VS Code isn't in focus, you get a notification (or auto-focus, per your mode).

Requirements
Installation
Install from the VS Code Marketplace — search Claude Watch.
The extension automatically installs the required hooks into ~/.claude/settings.json on activation and removes them cleanly on uninstall. No manual setup needed.
