Create a new project
Import an existing project
NOTE: This step assumes you have a functioning Teams app with a publishing zip file used to install the app to Teams.
From an empty VS Code window, select File > Add Folder to Workspace.
Open the Teams Developer Tools extension and select Import Publishing Package.
Select the zip file used to install the app to the Teams client. There will be a new folder created for you in the project root directory called .publish. This folder will contain your manifest, icons and zip file from now on.
If your are new to Teams app development, get your feet wet by creating a personal tab app.
Selecting the "new bot" option during project generation will not actually create a new bot service. You will need to create it yourself. Refer to the project docs for more information.
