Requirements

Hardware

A device is required that meets the hardware requirements for VSCode, ROS and Rviz.

Software

• ROS 1/ROS 2
• VSCode
• ROS 1 requires a Linux environment (can use WSL or Virtual Machine) - older than Ubuntu 20.04 for ROS 1

Installation

1. Open Visual Studio Code
2. Click on the Extensions button on the left sidebar or press Ctrl+Shift+X (Cmd+Shift+X on macOS)
3. Search for "r-ide" and click on the extension
4. Click the Install button
5. Click the Reload button to activate the extension
