Cortex is a shared working memory for developers and Claude agents in VS Code. It keeps your tasks, code changes, decisions, and Claude sessions connected, so you can switch between tasks with less mental overhead and keep working with a clear mind.

Claude's plans are automatically linked to your task. You can also ask Claude to link handoffs, specs or other relevant documents, keeping everything you or your next session needs in one place.

Cortex works on its own. If you also have LevelUp installed, your completed tasks can earn Pieces you can claim as XP, adding a little extra reward to the work you're already doing.
