Revamp

Create or redesign websites by chatting.

Turn a description into a new website, redesign an existing website from its public address, or build a web app with accounts, bookings, payments, and more. Keep refining your project in the same Copilot conversation, then open Revamp for visual editing and publishing.

Get started

  1. Install Revamp and open GitHub Copilot Chat in Agent mode.
  2. Enable Revamp in the chat's tools picker. Sign in to your Revamp account when prompted and approve the connection.
  3. Describe what you want. Copilot can start the project, follow its progress, and share its preview.

For a guided introduction, run Revamp: Get Started from the Command Palette.

Replace [public website URL] with your live website's address.

From idea to a living website

  • Start from a description or a website address. Create something new or carry an existing website forward.
  • Keep improving by chatting. Ask for new pages, design changes, or the features you need.
  • See the result. Copilot follows the work and returns the latest available preview.
  • Continue in Revamp. Use visual editing, manage your website, and publish when you are ready. You do not need an open Studio tab to start or refine a project from Copilot.

Preview availability depends on the project's progress. A preview is separate from publishing.

Requirements

  • Visual Studio Code 1.109 or newer with GitHub Copilot's Agent mode available.
  • A Revamp account. Plan features and available credits apply to work started through this extension, just as they do in Revamp.
  • Access to https://app.revamp.dev/mcp. Organizations may restrict external connections or MCP servers.

Privacy and control

This extension connects Copilot to Revamp's hosted MCP server. VS Code handles sign-in and tool approvals; the extension contains no credentials and stores no access tokens itself.

Revamp receives the requests and project information sent through its tools. The extension does not read your local source files, copy your workspace, run shell commands, or add its own telemetry. You decide whether to share local content with Copilot or Revamp. Review your organization's policies before connecting a work account.
