RenScript Language Support for VS Code

This extension provides syntax highlighting and language support for RenScript (.ren) files in Visual Studio Code.

Installation

From VSIX file

Download the .vsix file
In VS Code, open Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P)
Run "Extensions: Install from VSIX..."
Select the downloaded .vsix file

From source

Copy the vscode-renscript folder to your VS Code extensions folder:
- Windows: %USERPROFILE%\.vscode\extensions
- macOS: ~/.vscode/extensions
- Linux: ~/.vscode/extensions
Restart VS Code

Usage

Once installed, the extension will automatically activate for any file with a .ren extension.

File Association

The extension automatically associates with .ren files. If needed, you can manually set the language mode:

Open a .ren file
Click on the language indicator in the status bar (bottom right)
Select "RenScript" from the language list
