Real Flash

Notice:

Flash currently supports only local execution. Remote and WSL environments are not supported. Please access this feature through the entry point in the RealConnect extension.

Flash

  1. Access the Flash Feature
    • Open Real Connect from the left sidebar in VSCode and click "Flash" to open the flash panel.
  2. Load & Configure Device Profile and Layout
    • The panel will automatically load the Device Profile of the current active project (if available and matching the environment); switch manually if needed using the "Load" button.
    • You may edit the Layout as required for downloading.
    • When finished, click "Save" to overwrite the original Device Profile, or "Save As" to save as a new Device Profile (.redv) or just save the Layout (.json).
  3. Select Serial Parameters & Images
    • Choose the device’s COM port and baud rate at the top of the panel, check the images you wish to program, then click "Flash" to start.

Erase

  1. Access the Erase Feature
    • Click "Erase Section" in the Flash panel to switch to the erase view. No Device Profile or Layout loading is needed for this operation.
  2. Select Memory Type and Parameters
    • Select the memory type to erase: NAND, NOR, or RAM.
      • NAND: Enter the start address, end address, and erase size.
      • NOR: Enter start address and erase size, or choose “Full Erase” for a complete chip erase.
      • RAM: Enter the start address, erase size, and placeholder byte value.
  3. Execute Erase
    • Choose the appropriate COM port and baud rate at the top, then click "Erase" to begin the operation.
