AI Prompts Hub: Recommender & Saver

Save your best AI prompts in one place—and get recommendations that understand the project you have open.

AI Prompts Hub detects the language, framework, and version signals in your workspace, then recommends high-fidelity engineering prompts that fit. Favorite the ones you rely on, write your own, and apply any prompt as scoped instructions without leaving VS Code. Guest mode requires no account.

Why developers use it

• Recommendations for the project in front of you. Local stack detection explains why every suggested prompt fits.
• One home for your best prompts. Favorites and personal prompts stay available from the Activity Bar.
• Useful without an account. Discover, inspect, favorite, create, and apply prompts in guest mode.
• Rules that respect scope. Applying a prompt writes scoped instructions only after an explicit action.
• A bridge to the marketplace. Optional account linking coordinates cloud workspaces with https://prompts.devqr.org.

Get started

1. Open a project and select the AI Prompts Hub icon in the Activity Bar.
2. Review the Recommended prompts and the workspace signals explaining each match.
3. Choose Favorite to save a prompt or Add to workspace to apply its exact release. These are separate actions.
4. Use My Prompts to save a personal prompt and use it in the current workspace.

Community contribution

After one-time consent, local prompts can automatically enrich a private community-candidate pool when saved—there is no separate submission form. Only the prompt title, summary, rules, exclusions, and declared stack, task, and scopes are sent. Source files, filenames, local paths, repository identity, and AI conversations are never uploaded.

Contributions are deduplicated and reviewed before any public release. You can keep an individual prompt private or disable future contribution in the sidebar at any time.

Guest favorites and applications send a random installation identifier, a one-way workspace fingerprint, the public prompt/release ID, and detected stack labels. Disable these signals at any time with promptHub.shareAnonymousSignals.

What it writes

• .prompt-hub/manifest.json — inspectable local application state.
• .github/instructions/prompt-hub-<slug>.instructions.md — a generated, scoped rule file by default.

The output directory is configurable through promptHub.ruleDirectory. Removing a rule uses the editor's trash behavior where supported and removes its manifest entry.

Deep-link sync

The web marketplace opens a URI shaped like:

The extension resolves the workspace against the authenticated AI Prompts Hub API, reviews updates when required, writes scoped rules, and records exact releases locally. Rule content is never accepted directly from an untrusted URI.
