How It Works

1. The extension checks for updates automatically when VSCode starts and every hour after that
2. When an update is available:
   • A badge appears on the Cursor Updater icon in the activity bar
   • A notification appears with options to install now or remind later
3. Click "Install Now" to download and install the update:
   • On Windows: Silent installation with automatic restart
   • On macOS: Automatic DMG mounting, app installation, and cleanup
4. Cursor will restart automatically to use the new version

You can also install specific versions:

1. Browse the version grid or use the search bar to find a version
2. Click "Install" on any version card
3. For older versions, confirm the installation when prompted
4. The extension will download and install that specific version

Requirements

• Cursor IDE
• Windows or macOS operating system

Installation

Install this extension from the VSCode Marketplace:

1. Open VSCode/Cursor
2. Go to Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X)
3. Search for "Cursor Updater"
4. Click Install

Usage

1. Look for the Cursor Updater icon in the activity bar (download arrow icon)
2. Click it to see your current version and check for updates
3. When an update is available, click "Install Update" to install it
4. To install a specific version:
   • Scroll through the version grid
   • Use the search bar to filter versions
   • Click "Install" on any version card
   • Confirm if installing an older version
