PanDev Metrics is a VS Code extension that provides metrics, insights, and time tracking automatically generated from your programming activity.
Installation
Open VS Code
Go to Extensions (Cmd+Shift+X / Ctrl+Shift+X)
Search for "PanDev Metrics"
Click Install
Getting Started
After installation, click "Metrics" in the status bar (bottom left)
Select "Add new server"
Enter your server URL, login, and password
Click "Connect to server"
Features
Automatic Time Tracking
The extension runs in the background and automatically tracks your coding activity — no manual input needed.

Left side: "Metrics" button — click to manage servers
Right side: Your daily coding time — click to open the dashboard

Green
Activity is being tracked
Yellow
Offline — data is saved locally and will sync when connected
Red
Project is not associated with your company
Gray
No git repository detected
AI Assistant Tracking
If you use Cursor or Windsurf IDE, the extension automatically tracks your AI assistant usage (prompts, file edits, sessions) alongside regular coding activity.
Offline Support
When your connection is lost, all activity data is saved locally and automatically synced when the connection is restored.
Multi-language Support
English (default)
Russian (follows your VS Code language setting)

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and type:

Privacy
Prompt content is NOT sent to the server — only the prompt length
File contents are NOT sent — only file names and line counts
All data is encrypted before being sent to the server
Local data storage is encrypted
