PanDev Metrics is an open-source plugin for VS Code that provides metrics, insights, and time tracking automatically generated based on your programming activity. Data storage is handled on one or multiple servers.
Installation
Press F1 or ⌘ + Shift + P and type install. Pick Extensions: Install from VSIX....
Select the pandev-metrics-plugin-vsc-X.X.X.vsix file and click "Install".
In the opened Add new server window, enter your credentials, then press the "Connect to server" button.
(If you’re not prompted, press F1 or ⌘ + Shift + P then type PanDev Metrics: Add new server.)

Click the Extensions sidebar item in VS Code.
Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the sidebar. Select "Install from VSIX...".
Select the pandev-metrics-plugin-vsc-X.X.X.vsix file and click "Install".
Usage
Just start coding, and the extension will automatically track your activity.
You find tracking information in the right bottom status bar.
Configuring
Add new server
Press F1 or ⌘ + Shift + P and type PanDev Metrics: Add new server or click the left status bar icon "Metrics".
Enter your credentials, then press the "Connect to server" button.
Server settings
You can change settings for a specific server:
Press F1 or ⌘ + Shift + P and type PanDev Metrics: Open server settings command. Or click on server icon in the right status bar.
