OneUp Today: Grow on Reddit

Find your next customers on Reddit without leaving your editor. Point the extension at your repo and it turns what you are building into a Reddit growth plan: the subreddits and search phrases where your buyers hang out, a genuine (non-spammy) Reddit post, and a real OneUp campaign that drafts DMs for your one-click approval.

Built for dev-tool founders who live in VS Code and Cursor and would rather ship than babysit social media.

🌐 Account

Sign up at OneUp Today to get free credits and connect your accounts. You need a OneUp account (free) to use the extension.

🚀 Grow on Reddit (primary mode)

  1. Open the Grow on Reddit panel from the Activity Bar.
  2. Click Analyze my repo. The extension reads your local context (README, file tree, dependencies, recent commits) and asks OneUp to draft a plan.
  3. Review and edit:
    • Product profile: what you are building, who it is for, the problem it solves.
    • Subreddits + search phrases: warmed, validated communities and buyer-intent searches where your customers ask for tools like yours.
    • A Reddit post: a value-first draft you could actually share, with the product mentioned naturally.
    • Readiness: exactly what is still needed to send (connect Reddit, install the OneUp browser extension to warm discovery).
  4. Take action with one click:
    • Save post draft to OneUp: lands in your OneUp Publishing drafts to edit and publish.
    • Start finding customers: creates a text-mode Reddit campaign (draft-for-review) and registers your search terms, so OneUp starts drafting DMs for you to approve.

How sending works (honest by design)

The IDE generates content and sets up the campaign, but it does not send Reddit DMs itself. Reddit discovery and sending run through your connected Reddit account and the warmed OneUp Chrome extension. The readiness panel tells you when real sends are possible and what to do next, so nothing is faked.

✨ Also included: developer prompt tools

The original prompt-engineering modes are still here as a secondary tab, backed by the same account and credits:

  • 💭 Brainstorm: a back-and-forth conversation to explore and refine a feature before you build it.
  • ⚡ Upgrade: one-shot, workspace-aware enhancement of a single prompt.
  • 💡 Workflow: multi-phase task management (research, plan, execute) for complex features.

Switch between Grow on Reddit and these modes using the mode switcher at the top of the panel.

⚙️ Setup

  1. Open the panel and click the Settings icon.
  2. Sign in to your OneUp account (or paste your API key from oneup.today/account).
  3. You are ready. Open Grow on Reddit and click Analyze my repo.

🔒 What the extension reads

To build your plan it reads, locally, your workspace name, README, dependency manifest, a shallow file tree, the active file, and your recent commit messages. This context is sent to your OneUp account to generate the plan. Nothing is posted or sent on your behalf without your explicit click, and DMs always wait for your approval.
