Why MockingBird

Most AI tools remember what happened five minutes ago, in the conversation you're currently in. Close it and come back tomorrow, and you're rebuilding from scratch, restating decisions, re-explaining the architecture, repeating conventions you already gave it last week.

MockingBird exists to close that gap. Every conversation in a workspace, past and present, feeds one persistent project memory - architecture decisions, conventions, active work, past reasoning so a new session tomorrow already knows what was decided last week, without you pinning it, summarizing it, or repeating yourself.

• Self-updating workspace memory — Architecture decisions, conventions, and prior reasoning are captured automatically and persist across sessions no markdown file to maintain yourself.
• Propose & apply edits — AI-suggested code changes are shown as reviewable diffs you can accept or reject before they touch your files.
• Builder Mode — An agentic mode that can plan and execute multi-step coding tasks with a safety net (git commits per step, manual or automatic apply).

Requirements

• VS Code 1.125.0 or later
• A MockingBird account (sign up via mockingbirdai.dev)
