DeStucker is a Visual Studio Code extension designed to help developers utilize the incubation effect from cognitive science to enhance creative problem-solving and minimize their time spent frustrated and stuck when solving hard coding problems.

Features

This extension has the following features. Every feature is grounded in research from cognitive science and related fields on creativity, problem-solving, and cognitive effects of sleep, exercise, meditation, and yoga.

• Adjustable 'Are you stuck'-reminder
• Status bar incubation guidance activation button
• Incubation guidance helping by:
  • Choosing an effective incubation period length
  • Offering effective and appropriate break suggestions
  • Explaining and aiding unconscious processing with guidance on how to effectively state the problem goal statement
  • Storage and reminder of problem statement after ended incubation period

Extension Settings

This extension contributes the following settings:

• destucker.enablePrompt: Enable/disable 'Are you stuck'-reminder.
• destucker.reminderInterval: Sets the interval in minutes between 'Are you stuck'-reminders, allows between 20 minutes and 720 minutes.
