Mordecai README

Mordecai is a dark, low-contrast color theme for Visual Studio Code, designed for comfortable long-session coding with muted, carefully balanced syntax colors.

Features

Mordecai provides a full editor and UI theme, covering:

  • Syntax highlighting for common languages (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, HTML/CSS, JSON, Markdown, and more)
  • Consistent styling across the editor, sidebar, status bar, tabs, and terminal
  • A muted, low-glare color palette intended to reduce eye strain during extended use

Tip: Many popular extensions utilize animations. This is an excellent way to show off your extension! We recommend short, focused animations that are easy to follow.

To activate the theme, open the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P), select Preferences: Color Theme, and choose Mordecai.

Requirements

No additional dependencies are required. Mordecai works out of the box with Visual Studio Code.

Extension Settings

Mordecai does not currently contribute any custom contributes.configuration settings.

If this changes in a future release, settings will be documented here, for example:

  • mordecai.enable: Enable/disable this extension.
  • mordecai.thing: Set to blah to do something.

Known Issues

No known issues at this time. If you encounter a problem, please open an issue on the extension's repository.
