About the extension
The TestMu AI HyperExecute extension lets you run your automated tests on HyperExecute, the AI-native end-to-end test orchestration cloud by TestMu AI, that allows you to run tests up to 70% faster than any other cloud grid directly from VS Code.
What you can do
Run and configure tests from VS Code
- Sign in with your TestMu AI username and access key, choose your HyperExecute YAML, and start the run without leaving VS Code. The extension restores your configuration from the last session.
- Set how many parallel virtual machines to use (Concurrency), where your tests are (Target Path, Target Directory), environment variables for every VM (Vars), a pre-built zip to upload (Use Zip), and how many tests run through a single tunnel session (Tests Per Tunnel).
- Add Labels to filter jobs on the HyperExecute dashboard, and use Preserve Payload to keep your uploaded test payload on HyperExecute servers for a set time.
- Turn on Analyze for AI-powered test analysis that surfaces failure patterns and insights after the run, or Scan to check your project's dependencies for security vulnerabilities before tests start.
- Download logs (Download Logs), screenshots, videos and reports (Download Artifacts) and the full HTML/XML report (Download Report) after the run. Clear artifacts from a previous run with Force Clean Artifacts, see every step in the terminal with Verbose, and turn off telemetry for a run with No Track.
- Use the HyperExecute CLI bundled for macOS, Linux and Windows.
Built-in test orchestration
- Auto-Split and Matrix: Auto-Split spreads your tests across concurrent VMs, and Matrix runs every browser, OS and version combination in parallel. Configure it in YAML, with no test code changes.
- Job prioritization: label jobs high, medium or low so release-critical suites run first.
- Automatic retries: retry failed tests automatically instead of rerunning the whole suite.
- FailFast: stop a job after a set number of consecutive failures, so a broken build does not keep using compute.
- Pre- and post-steps: run environment setup and data preparation before your tests, and reporting, clean-up and log collection after.
- Projects and Workflows: group related jobs into projects, schedule workflows to run suites by day and time, and chain runs so a passing suite triggers the next.
- Artifacts and reports: every test captures its own video, screenshots, and command, network and console logs, with framework-aware reports for TestNG, Allure, Extent and Cucumber.

- Error classification and root-cause analysis: AI-native error classification and RCA reports for failed tests.
- Flaky test detection: find flaky tests in your results with Test Insights.
- Auto healing: automatically heal broken locators so tests keep running when your UI changes.

Your project needs a HyperExecute YAML file with the instructions for running your tests. See Getting Started with HyperExecute.

- Click the TestMu AI icon in the Activity Bar and open HyperExecute.
- Sign in with your TestMu AI username and access key.
- Select your HyperExecute YAML, set any options, and start the run. Follow your job on the HyperExecute dashboard.
