C/C++ Extension Pack for CMake-Based Projects

This extension pack provides support for CMake-based C/C++ projects, including code completion, build and debugging tools, and enhanced CMake scripting features.

Getting Started

Create a new project

Use the command CMake: Quick Start to quickly create a new CMake project with a predefined template. This is the perfect starting point for your brand-new C++ application or library.

Open Existing Project

Open any existing CMake project by loading its root directory or CMakeLists.txt. The extension pack will automatically configure the development environment.

Once your project is loaded, you can build, debug, and run your project directly from either:

• The status bar (for quick access)
• The CMake Tools: Project Status view (for a more detailed overview and control)
