AdKar -- Developer Ads for VS Code

Monetize your development workflow with contextual, non-intrusive ads from Indian tech companies. Earn 75% revenue share.

Features

  • Status bar ads -- subtle sponsored text in the VS Code status bar, refreshed every 30 seconds
  • Sidebar panel -- a dedicated webview panel in the activity bar showing rich ad cards
  • Inline hints -- lightweight code-lens-style decorations at the top and bottom of supported files
  • Terminal banners -- full-screen sponsored banners in VS Code's integrated terminal

All surfaces are independently toggleable in settings. Ads are rate-limited and fail silently.

Getting Started

  1. Install the extension from the VS Code Marketplace
  2. Run npx adkar login in any terminal to connect your account
  3. Ads will appear in your next VS Code session

Or configure manually in VS Code settings:

  • adkar.apiKey -- your publisher API key
  • adkar.publisherId -- your publisher ID
  • adkar.apiUrl -- API endpoint
