Image to Markdown

It allows you to upload images from your clipboard and automatically insert the image URL into your Markdown files. Automatically optimizes uploaded images and adds alt text. You can set the custom size of the uploaded image. The images are hosted on Cloudinary, a reliable cloud-based image management service.

  • AI Background Removal: Remove image backgrounds (uses 1 credit per image).

How It Works

  1. Get Cloudinary API Keys:
    Sign up for free → Navigate to API Keys.
  2. Copy an Image: Screenshot, downloaded image, etc.
  3. Run the Command: Right-click → Paste Image.

Configuration

Configure these settings in VS Code (Ctrl + , → Extensions → Paste):

  • Cloudinary Credentials:
    • cloud_name, api_key, api_secret → Get from Cloudinary.
  • Image Optimization: Enable/disable compression and WebP conversion.
  • Resize Images: Set dimensions (e.g., 500x300).
  • Auto-Alt Text: Enabled by default.
  • AI Background Removal: Uses 1 credit/image (disable if credits run out).
